About the role
Airtable is seeking experienced backend engineers to enhance its core product infrastructure. You will build scalable systems that improve the developer experience and support the company's rapid growth.

What you'll do
- Drive significant infrastructure improvements across various teams and product areas.
- Address complex system-level challenges related to scalability, efficiency, reliability, and security.
- Develop reusable and maintainable code abstractions for other engineers.
- Take ownership of infrastructure components, ensuring their production reliability, performance, and observability.
Requirements
- A minimum of 8 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience with databases, distributed systems, service-oriented architectures, or data infrastructure.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Experience in building and maintaining complex systems, with a focus on clean abstractions and developer ease of use.
- For San Francisco or New York City locations, willingness to work from the office 2-3 times per week.
Nice to have
- Experience with API gateways (Envoy, Nginx, Pingora), edge networking (CDN, WAF), or stateless request serving platforms.

- Base salary range: $196,000 - $339,900 USD, varying by location and experience.
