Senior Manager, Procurement

About the role

This position oversees and evolves the strategic sourcing, vendor management, and procurement operations at Airtable. You will lead an existing team to refine software deal expertise while acting as a primary point of contact for Engineering, IT, Finance, and Legal departments.

What you'll do

• Direct end-to-end commercial negotiations for major software, SaaS, cloud, infrastructure, AI, and professional services contracts.
• Rationalize the supplier base and maintain vendor relationships to ensure favorable commercial terms.
• Collaborate with FP&A to manage a procurement pipeline, tracking renewals, pricing shifts, and financial risks.
• Facilitate structured communication between procurement and cross-functional partners in Engineering, IT, Finance, and Legal.
• Present procurement metrics, pipeline updates, and strategic deal summaries to the CFO.
• Mentor and develop a team of sourcing specialists to improve their negotiation capabilities.
• Optimize procurement workflows and internal controls using systems like Workday and Airtable.
• Utilize AI tools to assist in contract reviews, negotiation preparation, and spend analysis.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in procurement, specifically within SaaS, software, cloud, and infrastructure.
• Proven history of independently managing high-stakes negotiations, including multi-year, hybrid, or consumption-based pricing models.
• Prior experience managing or coaching procurement professionals.
• Ability to act as a finance partner who understands the impact of procurement on budgets, accruals, and FP&A cycles.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear, executive-level recommendations.
• Proficiency with modern procurement software and a habit of using AI tools like Claude or Airtable to improve output.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a focus on stakeholder trust and measurable deal outcomes.

Practical notes

• Base salary for San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, and Seattle is $204,000 to $289,400 USD.
• Base salary for all other locations is $184,000 to $260,600 USD.
• Compensation includes benefits, restricted stock units, and potential incentive pay.
