Forward Deployed Engineer

Airtable is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to act as a primary technical partner for our most strategic enterprise clients. You will work within these organizations to architect solutions, drive platform adoption, and influence the future of our product roadmap.

• Integrate into client teams to assess their operational workflows and business objectives.
• Build and deploy technical solutions that create measurable organizational change.
• Advise senior leadership on how to maximize value from the Airtable platform.
• Develop prototypes to accelerate project timelines and platform integration.
• Host workshops to facilitate solution design and innovation.
• Manage change initiatives to ensure successful adoption of custom builds.
• Relay product feedback to internal teams to shape future development.
• Promote new use cases, including AI implementation, to support account expansion.
• Mitigate churn risks by maintaining high-level technical trust.
• Explain complex technical concepts through clear storytelling.
• Travel to customer locations as required.

Requirements

• 7-10 years of total experience in technology and sales, specifically with large-scale platforms.
• 5-7 years of experience in enterprise SaaS pre-sales, implementation, or customer-facing roles.
• Proven ability to manage technical evaluations and sales cycles.
• Expertise in relational database architecture and enterprise integration methods.
• Proficiency in business operations and process mapping.
• Experience as a hands-on builder, architecting and developing custom solutions.
• Active user of AI tools, including LLMs and vibe coding.
• Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
• Ability to travel and operate in fast-paced, client-focused environments.

Practical notes

Compensation for this role varies by location. For New York City, San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, and Los Angeles, the on-target earnings range is $248,000 to $351,200 USD. For all other locations, including remote, the range is $223,000 to $316,200 USD. The package includes benefits, restricted stock units, and potential incentive compensation.
