About the role
AirGarage is seeking its inaugural in-house journalist to establish and lead its editorial function. This role will involve uncovering compelling stories within company data and industry trends, transforming them into engaging content for various audiences. You will be instrumental in building a publication and data reporting program that drives business objectives.

What you'll do
Develop and manage a high-quality publication, anchoring each edition with unique interviews, original data insights, or industry narratives.
Create and execute a recurring quarterly data report program, utilizing proprietary parking data to generate press coverage and attract potential customers.
Identify, approach, and interview key figures in commercial real estate, mobility, and urban policy to extract shareable insights.
Craft compelling pitches for journalists covering commercial real estate, proptech, and urban development, leveraging company data and stories.
Produce content for the CEO's LinkedIn and company social channels, translating interviews and data findings into engaging posts.
Contribute to content creation for SEO and general audience reach, ensuring it is grounded in original reporting and data.
Requirements
Possess 4-8+ years of experience in journalism, editing, or research, with a portfolio demonstrating the ability to discover unique stories.
Demonstrate comfort and capability in analyzing datasets to identify trends and potential story angles.
Exhibit strong interviewing skills, including thorough preparation, active listening, and the ability to elicit insightful responses.
Write clear, direct prose and adapt writing style for various formats, from long-form features to social media posts.
Be proficient with AI tools and eager to build workflows that integrate them into the editorial process, viewing them as aids to judgment.
Understand the commercial impact of content, recognizing its role in building brand awareness and generating demand.
Be resourceful and adaptable, comfortable with the challenges of building processes in a startup environment.
Nice to have
Experience covering commercial real estate, proptech, mobility, urban policy, business, or finance.
Previous success in pitching earned media or collaborating with journalists.
Proven ability to grow audiences on platforms like LinkedIn.
Familiarity with SEO principles and how AI search engines cite sources.

This is a remote-first position, but requires approximately 6 weeks of travel annually for company offsites, new location launch support, and onboarding sessions.
