About the role
This position offers a broad scope of commercial and regulatory support for a global eSIM provider. You will work closely with various departments on agreements, compliance, and risk management. It is a hands-on role for someone seeking exposure to a rapidly expanding legal department.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Create, examine, and finalize various business contracts, including those for partnerships, vendors, distribution, and telecom services, to support global eSIM operations in over 200 countries.
- Offer ongoing legal guidance to commercial, product, and marketing teams regarding contract risks, regulatory considerations, and deal structuring, escalating complex or high-risk issues as needed.
- Contribute to data privacy and protection efforts, ensuring adherence to regulations like GDPR and other international data protection laws.
- Monitor and interpret telecommunications and consumer protection rules in key markets, alerting stakeholders to potential risks.
- Develop and refine contract templates, guidelines, and internal legal documents to enhance efficiency and consistency within the legal team.
- Assist with corporate governance tasks, including managing entities and coordinating with external legal advisors in different countries.
- Partner with People, Finance, and Security teams on legal matters affecting employees, suppliers, and company policies.
Requirements
- Qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales, or hold an equivalent credential, with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience.
- Possess a strong foundation in general commercial law, including drafting and negotiating diverse agreements such as partnership, vendor, and distribution contracts, preferably gained within a rapidly growing organization.
- Demonstrate the ability to provide clear, direct legal advice to colleagues early in the development process, not just after decisions are made.
- Exhibit excellent organizational abilities, capable of managing a large volume of contracts and competing demands independently.
Nice to have
- Prior in-house experience at a technology or digital product company, especially one with international operations.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks in telecommunications, consumer protection, or similar sectors.
- Experience in developing or enhancing legal operations tools, such as templates, playbooks, or contract automation systems.
Skills & tools
- English language proficiency for both verbal and written communication.
