Agoda's Platform team is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to innovate on critical systems serving millions of users daily. This role involves developing solutions that enhance customer experience and support, with a focus on Generative AI. You will contribute to the future of travel technology.

What you'll do

• Drive significant company-wide projects and establish technical direction.
• Make architectural decisions and set standards for the team.
• Implement advanced CI/CD pipelines and testing strategies for high code quality.
• Develop performance-critical applications in a production environment.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience developing applications in Scala or Java.
• Strong knowledge of RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or similar).
• Ability to direct large-scale projects and define technical vision.
• Good command of the English language.
• Experience with architectural decision-making and team leadership.
• Knowledge of NoSQL, queueing systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, MSMQ), and Play framework.

Nice to have

• Experience with Machine Learning, GPT, prompt engineering, or other AI projects.
• Preference for candidates with JVM language experience (Scala/Java).
