Agoda is seeking a Platform Architect to define the technical strategy for our FinTech tax ecosystem. You will guide the development of scalable, compliant, and secure systems that support our global financial operations and high transaction volumes.

What you'll do

• Establish the long-term technical roadmap for the tax technology ecosystem in coordination with finance, product, and engineering teams.
• Architect mission-critical platforms, focusing on scalability, security, and observability.
• Design end-to-end solutions involving internal systems, tax engines, data pipelines, and third-party integrations.
• Collaborate hands-on with engineering teams on system design, proof-of-concepts, and core implementation choices.
• Conduct architectural reviews to ensure high standards for reliability, performance, and operational readiness.
• Translate complex regulatory and financial requirements into functional technical models.
• Evaluate the current landscape to identify risks and inefficiencies, creating clear paths for modernization.
• Define engineering standards and governance practices that maintain quality while supporting development velocity.
• Mentor senior and staff engineers to improve overall design, testing, and production ownership.
• Communicate technical trade-offs to stakeholders across Finance and Technology.
• Apply AI tools to assist in the design and construction of technical solutions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, architecture, or technical leadership.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience delivering tax-related technology projects or working in closely related finance domains.
• Deep knowledge of tax technology including VAT, GST, corporate tax, withholding tax, compliance workflows, calculation engines, reporting, reconciliation, and auditability.
