About the role
Agile Robots is seeking a professional to oversee the end-to-end delivery of software projects, including control systems and robotic applications. You will act as the bridge between customer requirements and engineering execution, translating complex needs into actionable technical specifications and development tasks.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Manage the full lifecycle of software projects from initial requirements gathering to final launch.
- Translate customer needs into structured work packages with clear acceptance criteria and priorities.
- Maintain and prioritize product backlogs to align with business goals and technical limitations.
- Lead cross-functional engineering teams to ensure projects meet quality, budget, and timeline targets.
- Create and manage project documentation including risk registers, action lists, and cost plans.
- Communicate project status and technical decisions to stakeholders, management, and clients.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and dependencies.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of project management experience in software development, specifically within robotics, automotive, automation, or IT sectors.
- A PhD in a STEM field may be considered as a substitute for professional experience.
- Degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated success in delivering at least one full-cycle software project.
- Experience with requirements engineering and converting needs into technical specifications.
- Practical knowledge of Agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban, including sprint and backlog management.
- Technical understanding of software architecture, APIs, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in Atlassian Jira and Confluence.
- Professional fluency in English for both technical and client-facing communication.
- Ability to travel for business approximately 10 percent of the time.
Nice to have
- Certifications such as PMP, PSM, or CSPO.
- Domain expertise in industrial automation, machine learning, perception, or robot manipulation.
- Experience in B2B project delivery with external customers.
- Familiarity with Git-based development workflows.
- Proficiency in the German language.
