Business Development Manager

About the role

AfterShip is seeking a hands-on leader to manage and grow our North American outbound sales team. You will directly supervise 6 to 8 Business Development Representatives, focusing on pipeline generation, coaching, and performance management. This role requires a daily presence in our Lehi, Utah office to foster a high-performance, in-person culture.

What you'll do

• Manage the daily performance, career growth, and quota achievement of 6 to 8 BDRs.
• Forecast weekly meetings and opportunities for North American sales leadership.
• Conduct live call coaching, daily call blocks, and individual development sessions.
• Design and update outbound sequences, talk tracks, and objection handling strategies.
• Oversee the onboarding and ramp process for new hires to ensure rapid productivity.
• Collaborate with Marketing on lead routing, target account lists, and inbound follow-up.
• Monitor BDR to AE handoff quality and maintain pipeline data integrity.
• Recruit and interview new talent to build a pipeline for future internal promotions.
• Analyze KPIs to identify performance gaps and adjust team strategy accordingly.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in BDR or SDR team management.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding team pipeline targets.
• SaaS industry background is mandatory; eCommerce experience is preferred.
• Prior individual contributor experience as a BDR or AE.
• Proficiency in using Gong, HubSpot, and outbound sales software for data-driven coaching.
• Ability to work from the Lehi, Utah office 4-5 days per week.
• Experience building outbound frameworks and managing performance issues.
