Senior Software Engineer

About the role

This position focuses on the core calculation engine of our Decision Intelligence Platform. You will contribute to a sophisticated Java-based OLAP engine, responsible for complex multi-dimensional calculations and a proprietary modeling language. The role demands a commitment to accuracy and performance at the engine's heart.

What you'll do

• Translate product designs into functional requirements for the calculation engine.
• Develop and implement efficient, high-speed code for the calculation engine.
• Explain intricate technical details to colleagues and interested parties.
• Champion a quality-focused development approach and promote its importance within the team.

Requirements

• Substantial background in backend software development.
• Proficient in one of the following:
• Advanced Java skills, including threading, memory management, garbage collection, and performance optimization for low-latency applications.
• In-depth knowledge of database engines, compiler design, or front-office systems in investment banking.
• Experience in designing programming languages.
• Familiarity with Java Virtual Machine (JVM) operations.
• Experience with AI coding assistants like Claude Code.

Nice to have

• Previous work on planning software.
• Experience in one of these fields:
• Database engine architecture (not implementation).
• Low-latency front-office systems for investment banks.
• Compiler development.
• Basic familiarity with Spring framework.
• Understanding of multi-dimensional modeling concepts.
• Knowledge of Lambda Architecture.
