Senior Financial Systems Data Analyst

This role manages the integrity of financial data and system workflows within our AI-first finance department. You will serve as the primary quality gatekeeper, ensuring reconciliation accuracy and audit readiness for all finance-impacting system changes.

What you'll do

• Perform daily reconciliations across loan management, merchant payments, and deposit subledgers, resolving discrepancies within established service level agreements.
• Execute month-end close support by delivering accurate subledger-to-GL tie-outs and documentation.
• Manage user acceptance testing for all new product launches and system updates, maintaining a complete record of test results.
• Monitor and troubleshoot automated reconciliation workflows to ensure maximum uptime, addressing data job failures within the same business day.
• Define and implement validation protocols for AI-assisted finance processes.
• Maintain a prioritized backlog of testing requirements for SaaS integrations and banking products.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience in financial operations, specifically managing period-end reconciliations and data flows into the general ledger.
• Proficiency in SQL or similar query languages for data validation and troubleshooting.
• Ability to investigate financial data breaks and distinguish between system errors, timing differences, and data quality issues.
• Experience translating accounting requirements into structured testing scenarios and maintaining audit-ready documentation.
• Strong organizational skills to balance daily operational tasks with long-term project backlogs.
• Capability to communicate technical system errors clearly to both engineering and finance stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Direct experience building, deploying, or testing AI agents for accounting or finance functions, such as GL coding assistants or automated reconciliation agents.
• Practical experience integrating AI tools like Claude or Copilot into daily operational workflows.
