Staff Cloud Engineer

About the role

Adaptive Biotechnologies is seeking an experienced Staff Cloud Engineer to join their team. This role will focus on building and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructure to support the company's innovative work in immune medicine. You will play a key part in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our cloud-based systems.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Design, implement, and manage cloud environments, prioritizing security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code to automate deployment and configuration processes.
• Collaborate with software development teams to ensure cloud solutions meet application needs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues within the cloud infrastructure.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices for cloud operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with a strong focus on AWS.
• Proven experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Deep understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Expertise in CI/CD pipelines and related tools.
• Experience with monitoring and logging solutions for cloud environments.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in a relevant technical discipline.
• Experience with other cloud providers like Azure or GCP.
• Familiarity with data processing pipelines and big data technologies.
