About the role
You will own the end to end operations of Acumen's global impact measurement and management function, defining how impact evidence is collected, validated, and used across the organization. You will design and implement standardized workflows that align regional investment teams with external funder requirements while maintaining consistency and quality. You will lead the deployment and optimization of Acumen's impact toolkit, ensuring these systems are practical, user friendly, and embedded in daily investment decisions. You will build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to foster a culture of learning and evidence based decision making. You will oversee a team of impact leads, providing direction, coaching, and performance management to ensure regional alignment. You will translate complex impact frameworks into actionable guidance that engineers and operators can use to improve lives at the base of the pyramid. You will ensure that data flows reliably from portfolio companies into Acumen's systems, enabling timely reporting and continuous improvement.

What you'll do
Coordinate the design, rollout, and continuous improvement of Acumen's impact measurement and management framework across all global regions.
Lead the implementation of the updated impact toolkit, configuring tools and processes to extract high quality evidence from portfolio companies through integrated systems.
Own the governance of data collection standards, establishing clear protocols, definitions, and quality checks that work across diverse geographies and teams.
Partner with Regional Investment Leads to embed impact practices into deal entry, due diligence, and portfolio management workflows, ensuring relevance and usability.
Translate funder requirements and impact frameworks into practical data collection templates, guidance, and training materials for regional teams.
Manage the end to end reporting lifecycle, coordinating data requests, quality assurance, analysis, and delivery of evidence to funders and internal stakeholders.
Identify bottlenecks in evidence flow and drive cross functional solutions that streamline processes while preserving rigor and relevance.
Collaborate with the technology team to ensure that Acumen's systems support reliable, consistent, and accessible impact data management and reporting.
Lead the prioritization of impact evidence, balancing funder needs, portfolio company capacity, and Acumen's strategic learning agenda.
Build and mentor a team of impact leads, setting expectations, providing feedback, and developing their technical and operational capabilities.
Establish feedback loops with portfolio companies to ensure that impact tools and processes are practical, clear, and useful in their operations.
Coordinate with Legal, Finance, Communication, and Development teams to align impact commitments with agreements, budgets, and external narratives.
Drive learning and knowledge sharing within Acumen by synthesizing evidence into insights that inform strategy, partnerships, and investment decisions.
Represent Acumen's impact function in cross sector networks and funder forums, ensuring that our approach remains credible and aligned with best practice.
Requirements
Demonstrate at least 8 years of progressively responsible experience in impact measurement, management, or related operations in international development, private equity, impact investing, or a related field.
Show a proven track record of designing, implementing, and scaling impact frameworks and systems in complex, multi country environments.
Possess strong technical knowledge of impact frameworks, indicators, and data collection methods, with the ability to apply them in practical investment contexts.
Have experience managing relationships with multiple funders, aligning evidence collection with their specific requirements and timelines.
Exhibit strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate raw data into clear insights, narratives, and recommendations for diverse audiences.
Communicate clearly and persuasively in writing and speaking, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for cross functional teams.
Work effectively in a hybrid environment, comfortable with a mix of in office and remote collaboration, and committed to the three day per week office schedule in London.
Demonstrate strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and coordinate across time zones.
Nice to have
Experience working with technology platforms that support impact data collection, management, and reporting.
Familiarity with funder specific reporting requirements from organizations such as Gates Foundation, DFID, USAID, or similar institutions.
Background in portfolio company support, coaching, or capacity building in measurement and management practices.
Practical notes
This role operates under a hybrid work agreement; team members are expected to be in the office three days per week.
The position is based in London and may require travel within the regions where Acumen operates.
Candidates must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom under current visa regulations.
