About the role
Abnormal is building a behavioral AI platform to protect large enterprises from advanced cyber threats. You will join the Multi-Product Platform team to architect a unified data layer that serves as the foundation for all company products.

What you'll do
- Architect and maintain services and APIs that comprise the standardized data access layer.
- Drive the adoption of API-gated data sources to eliminate redundant one-off integrations across product teams.
- Implement data ownership labeling and validation logic for incoming requests.
- Ensure the reliability, stability, and performance of platform components.
- Author technical design documentation and participate in architectural reviews.
- Manage code quality through testing and regular peer reviews.
- Participate in the team-wide on-call rotation to support system health.
- Collaborate asynchronously with product managers and cross-functional engineering teams.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Proficiency in Python or Golang.
- Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Strong background in system design and building scalable, reliable applications.
- Ability to evaluate trade-offs between system complexity, maintainability, and customer impact.
- Knowledge of service monitoring, fault tolerance, and incident response.
- Proven ability to own complex, multi-component features from start to finish.
- Strong communication skills for asynchronous collaboration.
Nice to have
- Background in building internal platforms or data access layers for other developers.
- Experience treating internal infrastructure as a product.
- Familiarity with GenAI productivity tools like ChatGPT or Cursor.
