Key facts

What you'll do

• Prepare, submit, and track insurance claims for home health services.
• Verify billing codes and payer requirements for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance.
• Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid claims and resolving discrepancies.
• Ensure all billing activities adhere to relevant healthcare regulations.
• Communicate effectively with payers, patients, and internal staff regarding billing inquiries.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience in medical billing, ideally within home health.
• Understanding of home health billing codes and insurance reimbursement.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and billing software.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Nice to have

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CPB).

Skills & tools

• Experience with Medicare DDE and claim clearinghouses.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations.
