Accounting Manager

About the role

Abby Care is scaling its finance operations to support our mission of transforming home-based care through an AI-native platform. We are seeking an Accounting Manager to lead daily accounting functions and transition our financial processes from early-stage to an audit-ready state. This role reports to the Controller and offers a high-visibility opportunity to shape our financial infrastructure in a fast-paced environment.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Manage the monthly financial close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, reporting, and flux analysis.
• Produce financial statements and provide business commentary.
• Oversee accounts payable and global disbursements.
• Prepare for the 2028 external audit and assist with tax and compliance filings.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate capture of business activities.
• Design and document new accounting policies and procedures.
• Identify opportunities to optimize systems and automate routine tasks.
• Lead special projects to completion.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience working in a high-growth startup environment.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and ability to manage large datasets.
• Ability to work independently, meet strict deadlines, and solve complex problems.
• Strong attention to detail and data integrity.

Nice to have

• CPA certification or CPA candidate status.
• Experience in public accounting.
• Familiarity with ASC 606/954 standards for healthcare.
