Staff Software Engineer

About the role

6sense is developing a next-generation Core Infrastructure platform centered on zero-trust security, multi-region scalability, and highly automated self-service systems. This position takes ownership of foundational infrastructure components including networking, identity management, compute platforms, and automation frameworks that support all company services.

What you'll do

• Architect and scale core infrastructure systems across Amazon Web Services and Kubernetes
• Build multi-region and multi-account architectures with secure service connectivity across VPCs
• Drive identity-based access adoption and eliminate shared credentials
• Implement secrets management with HashiCorp Vault and policy enforcement via Open Policy Agent
• Design secure service-to-service communication and fine-grained IAM controls
• Create infrastructure using Terraform, Pulumi, and Ansible with reusable modules
• Integrate provisioning workflows with GitHub Actions and Jenkins
• Manage lifecycle of Kubernetes clusters (EKS), RDS, Aurora, and ElastiCache
• Automate cluster upgrades, migrations, node scaling, and patching
• Design region-agnostic infrastructure patterns and lead migration initiatives
• Build and operate observability systems using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, and Datadog
• Define resource tagging strategies, data classification policies, and cost visibility measures
• Create self-service infrastructure workflows and improve developer experience through tooling
• Debug and resolve complex production issues across the full stack
• Write production-quality code, tools, and frameworks

Requirements

• 10+ years in software engineering or equivalent experience
• 5+ years focused on infrastructure engineering
• Strong hands-on skills with Amazon Web Services, Kubernetes, and Terraform or Pulumi
• Solid understanding of networking concepts including VPC, routing, DNS, and connectivity
• Knowledge of IAM and access control systems
• Experience automating infrastructure workflows
• Background building high-availability and scalable systems
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or Bash

Nice to have

• Experience with multi-region or multi-account architectures
• Background automating infrastructure migrations and upgrades such as EKS upgrades
• Familiarity with secrets management platforms like HashiCorp Vault
• Knowledge of policy-as-code tools such as Open Policy Agent
• Experience with observability systems including Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog
• Exposure to data infrastructure tools like Hadoop, Trino, or Spark
• Familiarity with service mesh technologies such as Istio
