Principal Architect at 6sense.
About the role
6sense is looking for a technical leader to guide the architectural direction of our large-scale distributed systems. You will work across engineering and product teams to ensure our platform remains scalable, secure, and performant as we grow.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Define the long-term technical roadmap and architectural vision.
- Oversee high-level system designs, data flows, and integration strategies.
- Act as the primary authority for complex design trade-offs and technical reviews.
- Establish engineering standards and best practices across multiple teams.
- Identify and mitigate architectural risks.
- Provide hands-on guidance and reference frameworks to engineering teams.
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies that provide long-term value.
- Support initiatives related to system resiliency, cost optimization, and performance.
- Mentor senior engineers and contribute to technical leadership forums.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 12+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on system architecture.
- Proven track record of designing and evolving large-scale, cloud-based distributed systems.
- Deep knowledge of microservices, event-driven architecture, API design, and data modeling.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Ability to influence stakeholders across teams without direct authority.
- Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Nice to have
- Experience with big-data, AI/ML, or data-intensive platforms.
- Proficiency in DevOps, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and cloud cost management.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Prior experience in a Staff Architect, Principal Architect, or equivalent leadership role.
- Background in fast-scaling SaaS or enterprise environments.
