About the role
1Password is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to join our Analytics & Data Engineering team. You will bridge the gap between raw data and actionable insights, working with various departments to create reliable and reusable data sets. This role is crucial for powering reporting, ad-hoc analysis, data science, and AI-driven analytics.

What you'll do
Develop and maintain scalable data models and datasets that serve as the primary source for key business metrics.
Design clear data structures, including dimensions, facts, and time series, for confident use by analysts and downstream systems.
Contribute to the management of semantic layers and metrics, ensuring consistent and documented definitions.
Establish and promote team standards for modeling, testing, naming conventions, and deployment practices.
Implement data quality and observability measures to proactively identify and address issues.
Collaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams to optimize model performance and warehouse efficiency.
Evaluate and introduce new tools and methods to enhance the reliability and scalability of our analytics infrastructure.
Ensure all data handling adheres to strict security and privacy standards.
Translate complex business needs into well-defined technical solutions, acting as a trusted advisor.
Mentor less experienced analytics engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
A minimum of 5 years in analytics or data engineering, with at least 3 years focused on analytics engineering and production DBT development.
Expert proficiency in SQL and DBT, including advanced modeling techniques, incremental processing, and multi-environment deployments.
Extensive experience with cloud data warehouses such as Athena, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or Redshift, including performance tuning and data partitioning.
A strong grasp of dimensional modeling, metric design, and documenting business logic for data consumers.
Familiarity with semantic layer or metrics tooling like LookML, MetricFlow, or dbt Semantic Layer, or equivalent in-repo standards.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD for data pipelines and orchestration tools like Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.
The ability to clearly explain complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Nice to have
Experience with B2B SaaS metrics, including subscription revenue, customer lifecycle, and usage data.
Proficiency in event-stream or behavioral data modeling, including SCD and snapshot patterns.
Familiarity with Lakehouse table formats like Iceberg and Parquet, and merge-based incremental loads.
Experience with Reverse ETL, data mesh concepts, or contributions to open-source data tooling.
Skills & tools

Practical notes
This is a remote position open to candidates in the United States and Canada.
Compensation includes annual base salary, equity grants, and participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k/RRSP, generous PTO, and other programs).
Travel for in-person engagement, such as annual offsites and team meetings, is expected for this role.
