About the role
This role focuses on maintaining the availability, security, and performance of the Salesforce Government Cloud infrastructure. You will build automated solutions and integrate AI agents into engineering workflows to support our government customers.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Design and manage compute capacity and Kubernetes deployments at scale.
- Develop and iterate on automated CI/CD pipelines to maintain feature velocity.
- Write structured prompts and maintain system context to ensure AI outputs are secure and production-ready.
- Transform manual processes into automated governance solutions.
- Evaluate human and AI-generated code for quality, security, and performance.
- Lead projects from design through post-release support for internal tools.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for large-scale production infrastructure.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen operating on U.S. soil.
- Ability to pass government screening standards, including a Criminal Justice Information Services fingerprint scan.
- Verification of citizenship via two REAL ID Act documents.
- Expertise in AWS infrastructure build and optimization.
- Proficiency in IaaS-based TCP/IP networking, including transit gateway, VPC, security groups, and route tables.
- 3+ years of experience deploying distributed applications with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS/GKE).
- 3+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management (Terraform/Ansible).
- 3+ years of Linux system engineering experience.
- 3+ years of experience with CI orchestration services (Spinnaker/Jenkins).
- 2+ years of experience managing infrastructure and application security for sensitive data (IAM, CI/CD, PKI).
- 2+ years of experience with scripting or programming languages (Shell, Python, Golang).
- Experience with log management and analytics (Splunk/ELK).
- Demonstrated AI-first engineering approach using tools like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Cursor.
Nice to have
- Experience with production service management, including on-call rotations (PagerDuty) and monitoring SLIs/SLOs.
- Proficiency with monitoring tools such as Grafana or Prometheus.
- Experience building security and compliance into pipelines using OPA, Checkov, Twistlock, or Prisma.

Practical notes
- Salary range: $96,300 to $260,100 annually.
- Salary range for San Francisco and New York City metro areas: $116,000 to $285,800 annually.
